TeamUp business token (TeamUp calls this an M2M token)
In TeamUp · create the BoxPass application
- 1
Open Settings
Sign in to TeamUp as the business owner and click Settings at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
- 2
Choose Integrations
On the Settings page click the Integrations tile.
- 3
Find API Integration
Scroll to the API Integration card and click Get Started.
- 4
Create an API Integration
If you haven't connected anything before you'll see 'No API Applications Exist'. Click Create API Integration.
- 5
Fill in the application
Enter these details exactly, then click Create:
- Application Name
- BoxPass
- Logo
- Download the BoxPass logo
- Domain URL
- https://boxpass.co.uk
- OAuth Return URL
- https://boxpass.co.uk
- Scope
- Read/Write
Read/Write is needed so BoxPass can add the athletes who book to your class register and remove them if they cancel. It never touches memberships, billing or your other customers.
In TeamUp · generate the token
- 6
Scroll past the OAuth credentials
The application page opens. Ignore the Client ID and Client Secret — BoxPass doesn't use them. Scroll down to M2M Tokens.
- 7
Add an M2M token
In the M2M Tokens section click Add.
- 8
Set expiry and access
Token Expiry: Never Expires (so your connection doesn't stop working after a few months). Access: Read and Write. Permissions: Specific Permissions, then scroll down.
- 9
Tick only Customers and Manage Attendances
Tick Customers and Manage Attendances. Leave Revenue, Discount Codes, Store and Manage Events unticked — BoxPass doesn't need them. Click Generate Token.
Customers lets BoxPass add a booked athlete as a customer; Manage Attendances lets it put them on the class register. Nothing else is granted.
- 10
Copy the token
Your token now shows as a row of dots. Click the copy icon next to it — you'll see 'Copied!'. You can come back here any time to copy it again or revoke it.
Back in BoxPass · connect
- 11
Open the TeamUp card
In your BoxPass gym set-up, step 6 Timetable, click Connect with an API token on the TeamUp card.
- 12
Paste the token
Click into the TeamUp M2M token box and paste.
- 13
Test & connect
The token shows as dots. Click Test & connect.
- 14
Connected
You'll see 'Connected to <your business>' with the number of classes found for the next 30 days. Click Done.
If it says 0 classes found, check your TeamUp calendar has classes in the next 30 days and press Sync now in step 15. New classes you add in TeamUp appear in BoxPass within the hour.
- 15
Your timetable is live
The TeamUp card shows Connected with your business name, last sync time and your synced timetable. Your token is saved securely and never shown again; use Replace token if you ever revoke it in TeamUp.
You can revoke it in TeamUp at any time: Settings → Integrations → API Integration → Options → Manage Applications → your application → Options → View and Update Application → M2M Tokens → Revoke.
